MUSIC

Welcome to Covenant Presbyterian Church’s music program. If you love music and wish to be a part of the music ministry at Covenant, there are several venues available to you!

“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.” (Psalm 100:1-2)

Choir – All are welcome. We provide the music and folders; all you need to bring is your voice and a willingness to make a joyful noise!  The ability to read music is a plus, but not required. Each voice type (soprano, alto, tenor, and bass) is rehearsed to secure rhythms and harmonies. Rehearsals are Wednesday in the Choir Room, which is elevator accessible, from 7:00-8:30pm. We sing hymns and anthems for the 11:05am service on Sundays. We also prepare special music for Holy Week, Easter, and Christmas.

Praise Team – For our 9:00am Sunday service, we sing contemporary Christian music. This is a select group that uses vocals, guitar, percussion, drum set, and keyboard. We display the words to each song on large screens to encourage the congregation to sing along. Rehearsals are Thursday from 7:00-8:30pm in the sanctuary.

Bells – Covenant has a fantastic set of hand bells that should ring out more often for our congregation. Beginners are welcome; you do not need to know how to read music to join. Rehearsals tend to be seasonal.

Soloists & Ensembles – Even though Covenant has an abundance of musical talent, occasionally we will incorporate a featured soloist or ensemble in a service. We also offer concerts and recitals throughout the year.

Please contact our Director of Music, Josh Pepper at Josh@covenantcares.org for more information on how you can get involved in the Music Ministry at Covenant.
