Online Giving FAQ

Online Donations

You will find a simple way to set up a one-time or recurring donation using PayPal transactions.  The transaction is processed completely by PayPal and sensitive credit card information is never divulged to the church. Please note there is a 2.2% fee + a $.30 charge per transaction from PayPal that the church will absorb.  Your receipt and tax records will indicate the full donation amount. Please contact the Church Office for more information or if you would like assistance.  To donate, just click on the donate button.

There are three different areas that you can contribute to the church:

Operations Fund –  Contributions to the Operations Fund support the budget.  This includes educational ministries, worship and music, fellowship and congregational care, the operation/upkeep of the church facilities (including utilities, maintenance repairs, and building improvements), and staff salaries.

Capital Campaign – Rebuilding Gods Community 2 – Contributions to the Capital Campaign will allow us to accomplish the ministry we have been called to do, eliminate our $1.1 million debt, and complete the most critical remaining renovations that are before us.

Undesignated Missions Fund – Contributions to this fund will be allocated by the Missions Committee as needs and opportunities arise throughout the year. This will include gifts to local and global disasters in addition to ongoing support of the 26 mission partnerships of the church.

Can I make a one-time contribution?

Yes. Our system allows you to make a one-time contribution or set up a recurring contribution. For a one-time contribution, the contribution will be made immediately.

Are there any church fees involved with online giving?

Yes. The church pays a normal 2.2% fee for each online gift from a credit or debit card. Because of this fee, we would discourage the use of credit or debit cards when making very large gifts if the donor has other payment options available.

How can I pay online but avoid having the church pay fees on my payment?

You can establish an automatic recurring or one-time payment through your own bank’s online bill pay. This is a preferable way to give for several reasons:

It makes giving a priority because you can set it up to give first instead of what is left over.

It helps you stay consistent in your giving, even when you are away.

It is a free service to you and it doesn’t cost the church anything to process.

Online Bill Pay – We can work with you to set up an online bill pay schedule.  You will set up a “Covenant Presbyterian Church” as the “payee” and you will schedule either one-time or recurring payments to the church. We are not currently processing direct account-to-account transactions; rather you will need to select the bank “mail to” option and a physical check will be mailed from your bank to the Covenant Office. Please contact Bethany Borak in the Church Office for more information on how to set up the account.
