Covenant Presbyterian Church makes a difference to the people of San Antonio! By giving both their time and their personal treasure, Covenant members serve the local community through a number of ministries.
Covenant Food Pantry – The Covenant Food Pantry provides direct help to people requesting assistance at the church. Reusable grocery bags are packed with nonperishable items and are kept on hand for distribution. Monetary donations to the Food Pantry (we’ll be glad to shop for you), or bringing nonperishable items from the following list to church on Sunday, will continue to help us help families and individuals in need.
In addition, several local organizations have been long-time Covenant ministry partners. Covenant has been a Christian Senior Services (Meals on Wheels) satellite delivery site for many years, and members and friends deliver meals to homebound individuals five days a week. Habitat for Humanity, San Antonio Metropolitan Ministries, and the Christian Medical Dental Association are among the other local missions Covenant members actively serve with volunteers, and many other local service organizations receive regular financial support from our members.
Our mission extends beyond our local community. Organizations we serve include Kairos Prison Ministry, the Presbyterian Pan American School, and Proyecto Amistad, part of Presbyterian Border Ministry. Additionally, there are annual mission trips for youth and adults to outlying areas, including the Texas-Mexico border.
Covenant financially supports missionaries and mission activities throughout the world. Wycliffe Bible Translators, Presbyterian Church (USA) World Wide Missionaries, Mission India, and Campus Crusade for Christ International are among the organizations we support.
