During the Christmas season, while others celebrate, some of us are reminded of losses of relationship, health, security, ideals, and sometimes faith. Our spirits sink, as the days grow shorter and we are bombarded by messages of good cheer. We feel the darkness growing deeper around and within us. We need encouragement to live the days ahead.

Recognizing the darkness, The Beautiful Minds Coalition for Mental Health and Congregational Care Ministry is offering a special “Longest Night” service at Covenant Presbyterian Church on December 21, 2025 at 6:30 PM. Please join us in lighting candles in remembrance of our losses and in our recognition of the coming of light. May we come together and affirm that the Longest Night is the transition from darkness to light, that God’s presence is for those who mourn and for those who struggle, and that God’s Word comes to shine light into our darkness. Everyone, regardless of church background, is welcome.
