Dr. Calvin Reynolds was born in Columbus, Ohio to an Air Force family which sent him all over the country as he was growing up. He was ordained to the gospel ministry on July 29, 1978 at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Calvin has served several churches over his forty plus years in ministry. He first served as the Youth Pastor of 1st Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City. Next, he was the Associate Pastor for Christ Presbyterian Church in Madison, Wisconsin. From there he went to graduate school at the University of Texas. After completing his degree, he went back into the ministry serving 1st Presbyterian Church in Kingsville, Texas. But most recently he served San Pedro Presbyterian Church in San Antonio, Texas as Senior Pastor/Head of Staff for 30 years, retiring in October of 2019. In retirement, he has served two churches as Interim: 1st Presbyterian, Shreveport, LA and 1st Presbyterian, Georgetown, Tx.
He has received several degrees:

- MA in Classics, University of Texas, Austin, Texas
- DMIN with an emphasis on preaching, Austin Theological Seminary, Austin, Texas
- Post-Graduate Studies in Biblical Hebrew, University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin
- Post-Graduate Studies in Modern Hebrew, University of Texas, Austin, Texas
Calvin also was a Chaplain in the US Naval Reserves until retirement in 2011. He was mobilized in 2005 for Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom serving as Command Chaplain for 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force in Camp Lejeune. He has been married for 48 years to Denise, and they have three children, Austin, Millicent, and Mabrie. They are the proud grandparents of 11 grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys reading and playing golf as well as being a grandfather. Calvin looks forward to an enriching and fun time with all of you at Covenant.
