Joe Estala (he/him) joined Covenant Presbyterian Church as Director of Music, bringing with him a lifelong passion for music, worship, and education.
A singer, pianist, conductor, and educator, Joe earned his music degrees from the University of Texas at El Paso and the University of North Texas. Throughout his career, he has performed professionally in musical theater, including productions of Les Misérables and Aida, while also dedicating more than two decades to teaching and mentoring young musicians.
In addition to serving Covenant, Joe is the Fine Arts Administrator for the San Antonio Independent School District. He is especially passionate about helping students discover and develop their gifts, and many of his former students have gone on to successful careers in the performing arts.
Joe believes that God often leads us in unexpected directions. Although San Antonio was never part of his original plan, he is grateful for the path that brought him here and for the opportunity to serve the Covenant community through music, worship, and fellowship.
