Rebekah “Bekah” Hernandez has been part of Covenant Presbyterian Church since she was six.

She remembers worshiping in the original building before Mission Hall and the Narthex were constructed. During the redesign, she joined other young members in sharing ideas, writing prayers on the walls, and leaving handprints on the floor.

Growing up at Covenant gave Rebekah a close-knit church family and a lasting appreciation for Covenant’s intergenerational community. She values how children, teens, adults, and older adults come together through worship, service, learning, and fellowship.

Rebekah’s passion is caring for children and helping them learn and grow. She began volunteering in Covenant’s nursery during middle school and continued throughout high school. Today, she serves as Covenant’s Nursery Attendant, creating a safe, loving, and welcoming environment where young children can experience God’s love and begin building a foundation of faith.

In addition to her nursery ministry, Rebekah serves as a Sunday School teacher and Praise Team member. She also volunteers in Covenant’s community garden and as an usher for the Live Oak City Singers.

Favorite Bible Story: Ruth, because of the way the women come together to build and serve their community.

Favorite Hobby: Reading. Rebekah is currently enjoying Mundane Magic and the third book in the Assistant to the Villain series.
